In Franchise Basketball 2023, you play as the manager of an emerging basketball team which, by managing players and creating game strategies, you're trying to take to the top of the league. To do so, you'll have to make use of mechanics very similar to those seen in titles like Hearthstone or FIFA Ultimate Team itself, since the only way to get new players is by buying card packs with the money you earn from winning matches.

All the matches played in Franchise Basketball 2023 are much simpler simulations than those seen in titles such as Football Manager, since you never see what's happening on the field. Despite this, it manages to maintain the excitement in a surprisingly effective way through the real-time representation of the match's score.

The most interesting thing about Franchise Basketball 2023 is its successful progression system, through which you'll gradually see improvements as the result of your effort and time invested in the team. Although most of the official licenses are missing, the absence of real players' names will hardly be missed.
